CPLD: Complex programmable logic device

Complex Programmable Logic Device (CPLD) is larger, more capable programmable logic device (PLD). There are three types of programable logic devices: the original Programmable Logic Device (PLD), Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) and CPLD. For most practical purposes, CPLDs can be thought of as multiple PLDs (plus some programmable interconnect) in a single chip. CPLDs can be used to create large (logically, but not necessarily physically) and advanced logic circuits.
