Merced Merced is the code name for a 64-bit microprocessor, Itanium, developed jointly by Intel and HP. Itanium is based on the Intel Architecture-64 (IA-64) which employs microprocessor techniques such as long instruction words (LIW), instruction predication, branch elimination, and speculative loading.
