Password Protect Neon Responders

Neon Software recommends you password protect your Neon Responders in order to provide authenticated access to LANsurveyor's information and management features. By default, there is no password configured for a manually installed Neon Responder. (Neon Responders deployed via a directory service are password protected during the installation process.)

The Manage Wizard makes it easy to remotely configure the Neon Responder password.

Step 1 of 6: Draw a Map

Use the map you created in Draw Your Network Map or create a new map that includes all your Neon Responders. Make sure you select the Neon Responder option in the TCP/IP services section of the Create New Network Map dialog box.

Step 6 of 6: Store New Password with Map

Finally, store your new password with any maps you have created. Select Map Properties from the Tools menu and enter your new password.
